Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites!
It's about two teenage kids who go exploring in a cave and find themselves right in the middle of the Nephite world! As the books go on so do the generations. The kids have kids, and the kids of the kids have kids! And so on! So many different, exciting, and mysterious things go on! I found that I could NOT put the books down! I hope you will find them as exciting as I did!
Girls camp 2010!
Well the toilet was nicer than we expected, but it was still NASTY!Each tent was a tribe (From 'Survivor') My tribe was the Sesomites! We got Sesomites by using Moses backwards, and adding ites. We chose Moses because he had to be really couragous to take the people to cross the red sea!
My tribe had Kayla, Kaylee, Mickel, Alexis, and of course ME!
We loved having camp right on the beach! I tried water skiing for the first time! I did it! Beach day was fun even though we got rained on!
We had to wait almost an hour and a half to get into Minnetonka Cave!
We all had fun chasing the chipmunks around the parking lot!
This was my 3rd time going into Minnetonka cave and everytime I have been amazed at how beautiful it is!
At the end of the cave the tour guide turned out the lights and told us that we had to find our way in the dark to the stairs by holding the rail. She said it was just like Lehi's dream where he had to hold to the rod! Eventually the rail ended and we were stumbling in the dark toward our tour guides flashlight! That was just one of the spiritual experiences!
That last night when the bishop came, he brought pizza! Everyone was excited for take out! Even though our cook was an AMAZING cook! We used the leftover boxes for the fire for our testimony meeting! But earlier my mom had given everyone an oil lamp and said to hold onto it. She told us about the ten virgins, and how 5 didn't have any oil and didn't get to see the bridegroom! Eventually the bishop said "He has come! Bring your oil lamps and come!" Those who had their lamps got to go in and hear one of our leaders Amazing testimonies. Only 5 of the 40 girls that were there were prepared. I was one of them. Some girls's sisters, dad's(preisthood holders"), and friends weren't there. We all got a taste of how it would feel if the the Savior really did come and we weren't all together with our friends and family.
Testimony meeting was Great as well. Almost everyone bore their testimony. Me included. Everyone who bore theirs got me crying all over again.
The next morning we packed up our stuff and underneath my tent was 2 squished mice with their guts all spilling out, One alive and running around, and a newborn baby. We were pretty sure that the alive one gave birth while we were all asleep! We were all sad and our camp cook told us the baby wouldn't make it.

Really? Huh... Weird!
EXTINCT WHALES?
Saturday, some ocean experts saw a gray whale swimming in the Mediterranean Sea off Israel. This find was equivalent of finding a dinosaur in your backyard. This particular species of whale has been believed to have been extinct for about THREE HUNDRED YEARS! And now it has been seen, and it is definitely NOT extinct!
IMPOSSIBLE STARSome scientists' space telescope caught the beginning of a big star! and I mean really, really big! So enormous, it would block our our sun. Even as a baby star it is already eight to ten times larger than our sun. The star is set to be one of the biggest and brightest stars in our galaxy within the next few hundred thousand years - which means, that this star won't even be part of our lives. So, we'll let scientists in the future worry about it.
Now I know exactly what all of you are thinking, 'Really? Huh...Weird! Am I right? I think that you'll agree with me, that these stories are CRAZY! I mean seriously who gets to see an extinct whale swimming in the Mediterranean sea? or a star that will block out the sun in a few hundred thousand years? Pretty cool.Thursday, May 6, 2010

The Christmas Sweater
The other day I was out of things to read, so I explored my mom's collection of books. I found Glenn becks 'The Christmas Sweater.' I thought it might be a little out of season but who cares right? Anyway I started reading that night and I finished the next night! I couldn't put it down! My first opinion of the main character was 'What a BRAT.' Well, once I finished the book I absolutely LOVED the book! It's about a boy who's dad died when he was 9, so he lives with his mom and is struggling with their finances. The mom couldn't afford the bike that her son wanted so badly. His mom made him a sweater instead, hoping that he would understand. Instead when he got it he threw a fit! Then it all goes downhill for him. If he hadn't thrown a fit many things wouldn't have happened to him! If you want to know what happens you'll have to read the book! I hope you love it as much as I do. Try to FINISH the book because the ending is the best part!Wednesday, April 14, 2010
